Irene is a young woman who is sent far away from her London home to attend Lady Lilianne’s Academy in the countryside. This school is lovely and has everything a young woman about to enter society could ask for: a strong emphasis on etiquette, her every need attended to by maids, gardens for fresh air and peaceful walks, other beautiful young women to be her bosom buddy as they brave the unknown together…

But then, a day after Irene's arrival, a student is found dead, with a terrible wound on her throat, and covered in blood. The headmistress insists it must have been animal. But that makes no sense... How could an animal get into the school undetected, and get into a locked dormitory room? 

With nobody believing them, with locks being useless, and the school miles away from civilization and help, the young ladies of Lady Lilianne's are on their own.
